And so, I wanted to get away from Lima and also visit Ica, where I’ve been wanting to go for a while now.
We got up at 5am to catch the bus at 6:30 from Lima to Chincha 3h ride S/20 each by Soyus (this was the original plan but when we arrived it wasn’t sunny at all and head up to Ica from there – 2h ride S/7 each)
What can you find in Chincha?
Beautiful handmade purses, bags, plates, and other stuff made of the junco plant. I’ve bought many of them, they are full of color.
Prices go from 20 soles.
10 minutes from the Ica station there is this Oasis called Huacachina. I haven’t been here since 2015 when I visited Ica for the Canyon of the Lost with my mom. This is the most famous Oasis known in Peru, BUT close to it there is also the Moron Lagoon, fun to visit and much less crowded.
Anyways, we could only spent the day so we hang around and just took one tour which included riding the naked cars through the dunes and sandboarding a little bit. This one hour tour costs us 25 soles each (but be careful because we shared the ride with some tourists and found out they charged them 50 per person).
I recommend you take the late tour around 5pm because then you’ll be able to see the sunset better, we went in the 4pm turn because the guy told us we could still see the sunset but it wasn’t true.
Here some photos I got to take!
